Arkansas, Damien Jurado

Music by vagabond-in-law Damien Jurado // Intro by {SJ}

I came by my restless spirit naturally; as soon as I got my driver's license I was off and running, trying to drive as far as I could, trying to get lost. But in the silly haze of youth I never dreamed I'd see this much of the world. Even this time last year I wouldn'tve believed my life today. Last May my husband asked me to quit my job, to invest in photography full time, and to go with him on every tour. I told him he'd lost his mind [which is, of course, still a possible variable for BOTH of us] but a month later I found myself landing in Sevilla and I never looked back.

Starting May 25th, we'll begin touring and traveling again, in support of Damien's next album. It seemed only appropriate to share the first song off 'Saint Bartlett' with my vagabonds. The song itself is full to the brim with long distance calls and country roads, whiskey bottles clanging and a healthy dose of on the road heartache. Hope the next time you hear it you're driving as far as you can, trying to get lost.
