catalinas

in the spirit of exploring ...

a few months ago i went to the studio for a day creating ... in hopes of making something that sparked a bit of fear : a step back from the piano . into a direction that provoked newfound curiosity in me .

& here's what unfolded .

pieces of the lyrics had been brewing since my time last year in arizona, at the foot of the catalina mountains . but the rest i wrote in a way i've never written before : spontaneously in front of a microphone . & by evening of that day catalinas was born . so here she is . a day of exploring made tangible . hope she resonates .
